Formerly a military installation named after late President Benjamin Harrison, one of the most famous of all figures in Indianapolis history, until in 1996 it became a place to explore the wonders of nature, with beautiful greenery, gorgeous duck ponds and plenty of places to wander and roam. There's plenty of space to move and a number of hike, bike, and walking trails, ranging from easy to more difficult, providing for the both and novice and expert a like. There trails are a fantastic way to explore the beauty of the park, while at the same time helping to keep slim and trim. You can also sit at one of the duck ponds and watch the water fowl frolic and play, even give them a little bit of a bread to eat if you're so bold. There's all kinds of fun activities at your disposal at the park, including fishing available at a number of the lakes and ponds, plenty of spaces to picnic at, and even a stable full of horses available for riding. They even have great spots for winter sports when the snow falls, including one of the largest sledding hills in the state, and plenty of paths perfect for cross-country skiing.
