Dining at The Capital Grille is not just a meal, it's an experience. The moment you step inside, its dark wood panelling, super-cool dim lighting and artistic, antique-y charm give off the kind of classic, art-deco vibe you'll want to recreate in your own apartment. The restaurant's official site advertises itself as a versatile luxury spot for both business meetings and general lavish indulgences, but any class of apartment-ite would feel both pampered and welcome here, thanks to the individual, private attention each table receives. The restaurant features four separate rooms - The Board Room, The River Room, The Wine Room and The Brickell Room, with respective capacities of 12, 20, 30 and 65 people. For this reason, reservations are strongly encouraged. The Capital Grille's specialties are their steaks, ranging from filet to 24 oz Porterhouses. The rest of the menu offers a feast of fancy delights: try the pan fried calamari with hot cherry peppers, or the delectable-sounding koma crusted dry sirloin with caramelized shallot butter. Sadly, there is no filling entrée on offer for vegetarian or vegan apartment-ites, aside from a selection of (frankly boring) salads. Characteristic of most upscale establishments, the focus here is on the steak and the seafood. In spite of this, though, The Capital Grille offers an elegant way to book a small gathering and enjoy the merits of private, fine dining. The restaurant boasts an impressive dessert menu, including fresh strawberries with ruby port and grand marnier sauce, and of course, the classic creme brulee.
