There's nothing better than licking your fingers after consuming delectable barbeque ribs, and the place to go to get them in the New Orleans area is Zea Rotisserie & Grill. Located in Metairie, just north of the city is the place you can get ribs and barbeque chicken, as well as awesome appetizers and delicious desserts. A wood burning grill and rotisserie helps the chefs prepare such treats as sweet and spicy rotisserie chicken, beef, leg of lamb and pork, as well as trout, tuna and shrimp. If you're a salad type that doesn't like to keep too many fresh ingredients in your apartment refrigerator, there's spinach salad, pepper jelly chicken salad and an Asian tuna salad, with a couple varieties of hummus and some excellent spinach dip. The drink menu at Zea is extensive, with one of the best accompaniments to BBQ, beer. Zea handcrafts their own original microbrew beer, a Clearview Gold - light and better tasting than a domestic brew, a Category 5 American Pale Ale - a bold American brew, a Zea Amber Lager - more mellow for the spicy dishes, and a Pontchartrain Porter with rich chocolate and coffee undertones. The food here not only tastes great, it also is very well presented and is a marvel to look at. The three creative chef founders, Hans Limburg, Greg Reggio, and Gary Darling (nicknamed the "taste buds") established Zea in 1997 and were immediately recognized by New Orleans magazine, and now have four Zeas in the New Orleans area, and locations around the country.
