Over 150 alligators are here at Alligator Alley to please the residents of Mobile apartments with their three times a day feedings! Don't worry, you are not a part of the feeding, but you are allowed to offer them food at the designated times. Swamp creature lovers of Alligator Alley apartments can safely observe these huge amphibians and find out more about them at the park. The park was created in 2004 as a rescue resource for alligators that have become dangerous. The animals here have been removed from areas where they are over four feet long and have no fear of humans. That lack of fear is what makes them dangerous. Alligator Alley is a great refuge for them where they can live in a natural swamp environment of over 20 acres for the rest of their lives. With an elevated pier throughout the park, visitors from Alligator Alley apartments can view the animals without worry. In addition to feeding these creatures at 11 am, 1 pm and 4 pm daily, you may also give food to the fish and observe other wildlife such as osprey, owls, turtles and more. Try to observe the largest resident of the park, Captain Crunch. He weighs over 800 pounds and is more than 13 feet long. A welcome center and gift shop meet the visitors at the entrance, where you will discover what you will see and look at hatchlings. Be sure to pick up an alligator tooth for your friend back at your Alligator Alley apartment on your way out. The rates to see the park are $10 for adults and $8 for kids, with discounts for groups and night tours.
