Cost of living is becoming more difficult, even in this small city of under 1 million people. They say the rule of thumb that rent or housing shouldn't be more than 30% of your income. Majority of people who are renting, it is 60-70% of their income. Let alone, think about how many single parents only have one income to depend on. Average salary is ranging from 40-60K a year. Make it make sense! None of it makes sense. Everyone is home poor. Something needs to be done about rent going up every year, which is insane. Business are so money hungry and want to make a profit but pay their employees garbage salaries. Yes, i'm on a rant. Winnipeg is a nice small city, but it's not affordable like it used to be.
