Hoover has one bus system, the Metropolitan Area Express (MAX). Due to the humid and hot weather, most residents prefer to drive a car during the day. The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is only about 20 minutes away.

People come from all around to go shopping, dine or spend the night at the Riverchase Galleria. There are also numerous civic parks with trails and playgrounds to enjoy. Residents enjoy fishing, walking the tree-lined trails, eating out at the many great restaurants and bars, and catching a movie at Patton Creek 15, to name a few things.
Any annual festivals or Hoover events to know?
Every February, the Southern Voices Festival celebrates the writers and singers of the South at the Hoover Library to a packed audience. Every November at the beautiful Moss Rock Preserve the Moss Rock festival brings together artists and food vendors to create a fun experience for everyone.

There are a lot of things to do in nearby Birmingham. Catch up on the history of the civil rights movement at the Civil Rights Institute and the Civil Rights District. Take a hike or ride a zipline at Red Mountain Park. Visit Cheaha Mountain, Alabama’s highest point.

The Preserve is a lovely community that oozes Southern charm. People wave to each other from their porches while neighborhood kids play together. The award-winning elementary and middle schools are within walking distance, with bus service to the high school. If you are not worried about the commute, the Lake Purdy region is a nice quiet upscale neighborhood to the north of town. Bluff Park is an older and more affordable neighborhood.
