Inflated Charges, Unprofessional Staff, and Zero Accountability
July 14, 2025I lived at Village Lake Townhomes for four years. I paid my rent on time every month, maintained the property, and complied with every request made of me. Near the end of my lease, I was asked to pay nearly $1,000 for flooring replacement—even though the estimate included bathroom areas that the property manager later claimed weren’t covered. When I asked for clarification, I was met with dismissiveness, condescension, and rudeness from the apartment manager. Communication was consistently ...unprofessional, and every attempt I made to have a respectful conversation was brushed off or redirected. Hoping for accountability, I contacted corporate—but unfortunately, they were just as unprofessional, and not once did anyone offer a genuine apology or explanation for the inconsistent charges. After move-out, I learned my unit had already been scheduled for a full renovation—including floors, doors, and fixtures. In other words, I was charged for materials that were going to be thrown away, regardless of damage. Even after providing proof, I was only asked to do remove reviews and them telling me to do what I gotta do. If you’re a prospective tenant: document everything, and don’t assume the management will treat you fairly—especially at move-out. If you’re a current tenant: protect yourself now. Very happy
March 29, 2025I love living here. It’s quiet, and the renovations are modern & beautiful. It’s connected to the park which is great because I walk my dog over there frequently. The manager, Eric, is very personable & great at making everyone adhere to the rules so it’s safe for all. We absolutely love Tim the maintenance guy - he loves my doggo, Chance, & always gives him some scratches when he sees us out & is also very quick to respond to any maintenance needs. Love Living Here
April 27, 2024My husband and I absolutely love it here, it is quiet, spacious and everyone is friendly. Tim (maintenance) is personable, attentive and good natured. Eric (manager) worked with me from out of state over a period of time he was patient, understanding, displayed integrity and listens when I talk to him. We truly love living here and are even more grateful Eric and Tim work here. Management is the issue
April 22, 2024I could really enjoy living here. I feel safe and the price is decent. I have had quite a bit of maintenance issues since it is all pretty outdated. They will charge you for things you cannot control. The front office management is another story. The communication is rude. I've been getting overrun with petty, ridiculous, lease violations and charges. I cannot wait to get out of here. I'd gladly be willing to pay more rent for some peace and less stress.Property Manager Responded
