What is the history of Conyers?
Taking its name from a prominent doctor who helped establish the city's first train depot, Conyers incorporated in the mid-1800s and grew steadily. The city boasted a wild reputation throughout much of the rest of the century, with much of the local economy tied into saloons and brothels, although by the mid-1900s cotton mills and a Coca-Cola bottling plant had replaced much of the debauchery. The addition of Interstate 20 in 1960 helped further establish the city, and a number of television programs filmed in the Conyers area throughout the 1990s and beyond.

Georgia summers are known for their length and muggy heat, and Conyers is no exception. Winters, conversely, are generally mild, and the fall months are crisp and highlighted my changing leafs most years.
How do I get around town?
Bus service is available but limited in the city, and most residents of apartments in Conyers rely upon a car or truck for day to day transportation. Given the relatively small scope of the downtown square, bicycling is a popular mode of getting around, although taxis are available as well. The nearest airport is located in Atlanta, about a thirty minute drive from most Conyers apartments.
What is the Conyers commute like?
For those commuting outside the city, I-20 is the primary roadway, and can see daily congestion during the peak 9 to 5 hours. With a body population of around just 15K, traversing Conyers proper is generally a breeze, and most of the main streets within the city limits are relatively traffic-free.
What are the local media outlets?
The 'Rockdale Citizen' is a popular print news outlet in the city, and radio runs the gamut from classic rock to country. Most television is beamed in via affiliates in the nearby Atlanta market, with most channels including FOX and NBC readily available to residents of Conyers apartment rentals.
Why live in Conyers, GA?
Offering a slice of smaller city living, Conyers is a stark contrast to the big city pace of Atlanta. Home to a number of schools and offering plenty of Georgia hospitality, this is a place where neighbors tend to call each other by name, and a cat in a tree might be the biggest police call of the month. For those eager to connect with a more relaxed way of living, a Conyers apartment might just be an ideal fit.
What Conyers landmarks should I see?
Dinky' the Locomotive can be seen on display not far from downtown, dating back to 1905, and the Olde Town Conyers district likewise presents a number of buildings whose beginnings can be traced to the 1800s. Nearby Arabia Mountain is a gorgeous piece of real estate that is a must-visit for nature buffs, and the Monastery of the Holy Spirit is an architectural wonder to behold.
What is there to do around Conyers?
The Georgia International Horse Park offers riding lessons for the equestrian fan, and Cherokee Run Golf is a great way to get in the swing of things. For nightlife, the Marshal Bar is a popular joint, close to many Conyers rentals and offering a wide selection of tap brews, while Hank and Jerry's Tavern is the place to go for a mouth-watering burger.
Any annual festivals or Conyers events to know?
The Olde Town Fall Festival is far and away the biggest event in the city, drawing enthusiastic crowds and plenty of live music and food offerings. The annual Cherry Blossom Festival is a floral dream as well, complete with parade, and the nearby Rockdale County Fair brings an assortment of thrill rides and games of chance to the region every summer.
Where are the nearby vacation spots?
