  • Poorly maintained, flying cockroaches, broken air conditioner, dirty carpets

    They don’t just have cockroaches, they have the big cockroaches, almost the size of a small mouse, with wings that fly and attack you. Sends shivers down my spine every time. When my air condition broke for months they just kept telling me it wasn’t broken even though the temperature inside my unit was 86.5 degrees. The only reason it wasn’t hotter was because of a portable air conditioner I purchased at my own expense and installed. When I moved in my unit, I spent days shampooing my carpets ...
    pulling loads of hair/fur out of them trying to get the stench out. The worst part is I even had to save all the hair in a box under my kitchen sink because I know MAA is probably going to try and charge me for dirty carpets they never cleaned up from the last tenant when I move out. Their response via email about this concern, a/c problems, and fees I don’t understand was: “The statements you are making qualify as being unfair and misleading, which as stated in the lease agreement is a violation”. One the plus side, they did invest a considerable amount of time painting the exterior of the buildings, and very pretty flowers in the front to impress prospective residents. Buyer beware.

  • No sleep for the weary

    Everyday since I've moved in the person upstairs Wakes me up, it used to be everyday at 6 am, I emailed , called , and reported this person. And it went from 6 am to 7 am , literally vibrating my walls from stomping and running a complete marathon across the entire apt. I can ever feel the vibration if I'm in the shower. The office told me to contact the courtesy officer, and I did. I'm a nurse and I work up to 15 hours some days, all I want is to be able to come home and get some rest. I will ...

  • Not worth the price

    Lived here for over a year now - decent enough property but the pricing is ridiculous. On top of the base rent, you're forced into their cable/internet package which is roughly $90, on top of "community fees" and other random charges. Security has also been a concern for me - just recently the office staff gave my apartment key to a "potential tenant" who was given uninhibited access to my unit with all of my belongings in it.   • Dirty, Smells and Broken

    This would be the last place i will want to stay. It was dirty when we moved in. Cabinets are old and broken. Kitchen sink was leaking. Carpet has stains. Bathroom seems like 100 years old. The internet sucks and you have to pay for it even if you want to use your own. There are people in the pool all night. More than 3 people in the gym and it’s crowded. You have to walk 5 minutes to the trash Dumpster. Parking after 8/9 pm is nightmare. Gate stopped working, it’s open all the time and nobody ...
    cares. I regret coming here and can’t wait to leave. I would upload some photos, but I can’t see any options. It’s horrible for me.

  • Helpful Staff, Great Natural Light and Quiet

    I've lived here for six months now, and am very happy with my apartment. The office staff, especially Collin, Stephanie, and Darius, are very helpful and friendly. The community is quiet for as large a complex as it is, and I love the large windows that let in lots of natural light.

  • Good enough

    The property is good enough for the price you pay. We have lived here for over 2 years and are in our 3 rd year leasing. When we moved into our unit the “finishing touches” that they made us wait for we’re a joke. The cabinets were touched up with a different color paint so they are not even uniform in color. Half of them looked like they were “worn and warped”. I think these cabinets should have been replaced altogether but they were not. The whole unit just looked older and outdated. All ...
    appliances looked like they had NEVER been replaced and now that I’ve been here for two years, I can confirm my suspicions because my washing machine had parts replaced 3 times before they just finally gave me a new one and the same thing is happening with my stove. They replaced some parts after we expressed that it was not getting up to temperature on more than one occasion. We are now waiting a third time to get this oven looked at and they will likely have to replace this soon too. Our dishwasher is now having issues and I already know that we will have to call maintenance and they will do a band-aid fix till it craps our again and then another band-aid fix and so on and so forth till the third complaint of it not working and they will hopefully replace that soon. The bottom line is this place is trying to sell “LUXURY” apartments when it is anything but. It is a very average apartment and no amount of beautification they do will cover up their lack of attention to detail and sub par customer/ tenant service.

  • This property management company is the best!

    This apartment complex has offered the best move-in experience yet! Not only do they update their information online often, they were also running move in specials. They make the approval process super fast and easy and are very flexible about allowing you to move in early or later then expected.     The leasing office staff and in particular Stephanie are amazingly warm, helpful and responsive. Having never rented an apartment during a pandemic I was a little worried how it would all go. But Stephanie instantly put my mind at ease, she answered all my questions, and there were a lot, quickly and personably.     Their responsiveness to my issue was incredibly fast and efficient. In this day and age it’s rare to come across helpful and considerate people such as Nicole and Vincent and everyone who works there. The property management responded to my issue and helped to find a peaceful solution. The management team takes a great care of their tenants! I couldn’t have been more pleased with my apartment, its awesome location, maintenance and my interactions with management.

  • CHEATERS!! Complete waste of money

    They didn't show us the apartment until the final day of move in, even after requesting so many times. And I found that it was exactly opposite to the description and floor plan that was showed. Every time they confirmed that the place will have a fireplace but there was nothing. After signing the lease they completely backed out saying we never said that. Also the apartment had stains in the cabinet which they didn't painted. They are liars and cheaters. Never go by their words. Better to find ...

  • I can not wait to leave

    I’ve lived at Colonial Village at Quarry Oaks for about eight months now, and I cannot wait to leave. For the past five months, I’ve been dealing with a horrendous odor that emits from the vents when my AC is running too long. I bought air and vent fresheners in order to mask the smell. It wouldn’t go away. I started leaving the windows open, the smell still persisted. I called the front office several times and I was told that the smell was most likely emissions from other units in the ...
    building. It was spring, so I decided I would try and manage without running the AC. As the summer months drew nearer, I would run the AC for a couple of hours, then turn it off when I started smelling the sewage. The final straw occurred in May. I was away for the weekend and made the mistake leaving my AC on. I came home, opened the door, and the smell was so rancid. It smelt like burning sewage. I could barely breathe. The stench permeated throughout my apartment and made me so uncomfortable I had to stay with a friend. I called and demanded that they look at my AC. The maintenance team (who are really nice) has been here multiple times and STILL nothing has changed It has been between 95-103 degrees here in Austin, and I have no choice but to run my AC more often. Two nights ago (a 100 degree day), I ran it for about five hours, and again the stench came engulfed my apartment. Since it is so hot, and I was babysitting a four-year-old, I had no choice but to leave it running. The smell was unbearable. I ended up having to leave my apartment so I could turn off the AC. I sent in another work order, and today, maintenance and what I assume to the be the building manager came to my apartment. My AC was off (of course), she turned it on and said that they couldn’t smell the odor. I told her the smell normally appears after a couple of hours. She said that I should call the office when I smell the odor. I told her I have multiple times, but it normally occurs after hours. She said that they can only come during business hours. I asked her what I should do if the smell occurs during business hours? She said they would only be able to assist during business hours. This is completely unsatisfactory. No AC in the summer months is a health hazard and safety issue, especially during one of the hottest recorded summers in Austin history. I am so disappointed by the service I have received in resolving this issue. I would recommend staying far away from this apartment complex.

  • Poor Management

    I have lived here for three year s and would not make this decision again. When you put in a work order be prepared to wait 4-5 days for service. If you ask about the work order you will b told that they are taken on a emergency base is or in the order received. A broken oven to cook with, a refrigerator, garbage disposal, clogged bathroom tub, clogged bathroom sink don't make the list. The management he4e is aware that there are several apartments that have more than 3-4 people per bedroom ...
    living in them, but they do nothing about the problem. This creates a real problem with noise and parking. There was also a murder here last year. Even though the facilities are out dated they continue to raise the rent by 10% every year. There is also a real problem with people letting their large dogs go off leash and management just turns their heads the other way. Don't move here!
