With a history dating back to 1929, Rudy's Country Store and BBQ offers a perfectly counterbalanced selection of quality, yet low-priced cooked meats. Utilizing a 100% oak-fired pit (foregoing traditional mesquite), Apartment-ites on the go yet eager for slow-roasted brisket, ribs and chicken can get the best of both worlds by letting Rudy do the dirty work. Pork loin sandwiches, turkey breast and chopped beef platters comprise the standard menu options, running at a more-than-reasonable price range of $3.99-$5.39. Rudy's also features some of the most affordable-yet-sumptuous baby back ribs in all of Austin for a mere $6.49. Top it off with a side of green bean salad or a jumbo smoked potato and odds are good you'll still have enough change left to snag a Rice Krispy treat on your way out the door.
