Though, my old furniture looked like doll house furniture in this enormous space but, that’s a nice problem to have :-) The neighborhood is great! With Santa Monica Blvd just to the south and Wilshire Blvd just to the north, it is so convenient. Everything I need is within walking distance: post office, farmers market, grocery stores, drug stores, banks, gyms, restaurants, parks, cool bars, garden centers, hardware stores, donut shops. . . You name it, you can walk to it! And, easy access to the 405 Freeway entrances on Wilshire Blvd and Santa Monica Blvd. and yet just far enough away not to be disturbed by the noise. Then, the other shoe dropped. Three weeks after I moved in my neighbor returned home from vacation resuming her 2 pack-a-day smoking habit on her balcony where smoke drifts into my place all day, every day thru the only window I get cool ocean breeze. When I brought it up, her comment was to “Close the window!” With no A/C, this was not the solution. Now, anyone who remembers the days of smoking sections on airplanes will remember how absurd it was to believe that the people seated in the row just before the smoking section would not be negatively affected by the smoke. Since it is not as easy to move apartments as it is to move seats on a plan, ask lots of questions before signing a lease.
