Boston T- accessible, and great price
July 21, 2015I have resided in this apartment for almost a year now and have extended the lease for another year. The apartment has two rooms and a living room with one of the largest kitchens I have seen in Boston (12 x 18) which was just remodeled in before we occupied it. The heating is centralized and can get really hot during the winter if you forget to close it off. The bathroom is small with a tub/shower combination that is in a nook of the bathroom with barely 2 ft x 5 ft of standing room in the bath ...room. The apartment is right on the "B" line (Green line) and about an 8 minute walk to the "C" line and another few minutes past that to the "D" line, so you have three choices! There are 20-30 different restaurants including one of the Best pizza places and clam chowder (different restaurants) in Boston within a 15 minute walk. A whole foods is a 15 minute walk, and Star Market is 20 minute walk. Street parking on Commonwealth Ave is unmetered and no parking pass is needed. With a resident parking pass you won't have to go more than a 5 minute walk from your apartment except in the deep winter.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Solid Apartment, Could Use Improvements
July 21, 2015PROS: -The T runs right in front of this building, and being towards the end of the line, there are always seats available in the morning. And when the B line isn't running well, the C and D are also pretty close. -Brighton center is a quick walk, with a good pub, coffee house, sushi, etc. -Cool breeze off the reservoir keeps the apartment at a decent temperature, even without A/C. -Reasonable rent for a good-sized apartment. 2BR has a living room with a door, so could easily turn into a ...3BR. Huge kitchen! CONS: -Maintenance has been pretty slow to respond. Floorboards pulled up and wall was falling apart from a steam leak and it took several weeks to get it looked at. -Packages left in the mail area sometimes go missing, so it seems we have a thieving neighbor. -Bathroom's not great. Hot pole right in the middle of the room, oddly placed shower head. Tub refuses to drain completely.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
