I lived in this residence for four years. The first two years were okay, as we had a maintenance man. However, there were serious safety concerns with the area. The lock on the building door didn’t work in the winter, allowing a homeless man to enter the building and camp outside my apartment door for weeks. This issue was not promptly addressed, and I had to involve the police and emphasize my safety concerns to get it resolved. Safety shouldn’t be a concern, but it was here.

smelled of marijuana, and the carpets were not cleaned. Additionally, there were large crayon murals scribbled on the walls inside the building. The police were frequently called due to disturbances, and I had alcoholic neighbors. My refrigerator broke down and remained unfixed for more than three months despite multiple service calls. The refrigerator needed to be replaced, but temporary fixes were applied instead. Consequently, I had to rely on food delivery services and store my leftovers in a malfunctioning fridge.
I also experienced issues with the bathtub draining slowly and eventually not at all. Despite several service requests over the past four years, the problem persisted. On the last occasion, the assistant property manager, Astrid, informed me that I needed to hire a plumber at my own expense, which contradicted the terms of my lease. After researching, I confirmed that it was indeed the landlord’s responsibility to address plumbing issues. Only then did she arrange for the necessary repairs.
I thoroughly cleaned the apartment upon vacating, which was more than the condition warranted. Despite this, I did not receive my security deposit back, and normal wear and tear were not addressed. Nebraska law states they have 14 days to return your deposit I moved out on the 21st June. It’s been a month and nothing. Gave them my forwarding address long before I moved.
