Lots of charm but no amenities

Great location. Sits above the dog park and tennis courts on John Nolen Drive, only 3 blocks from the capital square. Apartment has a wood burning fireplace and original art deco stain glass windows. However, the laundry will cost you $5 to do 2 loads in a machine shared by 30 tenants. Plus half of the time the machines steal your money and do not work correctly. There is no dishwasher. Management is too lazy to call and inform you when a showing is scheduled. Instead you will receive a postcard ...
in the mail stating that three days of the week you may have people showing up to your apartment for showings during the afternoon. Sometimes you will receive notice of scheduled maintenance (sometimes they will come without notice) and sometimes the scheduled maintenance people will just not show up. Maintenance people are very sketchy and their work is often unfinished. Also there is only ONE CLOSET in the apartment. There is no lighting in the bedroom. There is no fan in the bathroom so MILDEW will constantly form on the ceiling. But you get a prime location with small garden plot and lake views for $850. Worth it? We don't think so. Time to move.
