The Old Fellows Masonic Lodge originally. Gutted and Rebuilt circa 1955. Top Floor with a view. Ground floor is Joanie's Cafe (famous breakfast & Lunch place in Palo Alto) at the corner of California Ave and Ash Street. California Ave has become a colorful pedestrian area with many cafes and restaurants that took over the open space to make a pleasant venue for food, drinks, and occasional music and performers. On Sunday morning, California and Ash are taken over by the Farmers Market (9AM-1PM) with a multitude of tents and outlets. Next to Joanie's Cafe is the Casual Chic Salon, and the French restaurant "La Boheme". The old building is the center of this shopping area. Proximity to Stanford Research area. Page Mill Rd and Oregon Expressway are close and give access to Highway 280 (South South West) and Highway 101 (North North East), and there is also a free shuttle to the Stanford campus and SLAC.

Condescending and Unprofessional Communication from Property Manager / Philippe

Interaction with Philippe was dismissive and unprofessional. After I asked standard pre-screening questions, he told me my application “would not look as good as the others” and advised me not to waste my time, while being vague about scheduling. He also responded condescendingly (“no you don’t”) when I said I understood his policies. Even when declining an applicant, clear, respectful communication is the baseline—this experience fell well below it.
