My charming hole in the wall

This one bedroom apartment, conveniently located near tons of high end shops and high end condos, a great way to make you feel more and more poor by the minute. Its a 1940's 4 unit building and nothing high end about it. Being almost 70 years old one can imagine it has some things to get used to. This 1 bed baby has no central A.C but the wall units do the job. Honestly with some ceiling fans this place can get comfortably chilly. The electrical work is also quite interesting. The fridge, tv and ...
bathroom are on one switch while the bedroom, appliances and dining are on another. Needless to say when I try to blow-dry my hair the fridge blows out, or when I try and vacuum my living room and bedroom lights shut off. You'll learn to laugh at it after you've made 20 trips to the electrical box to get everything turned on again. When we first got here this place was decked out with old school powder blue bathrooms, but has been recently modified to something less retro. I must admit I can admire the vintage vibe going on. We even have some cracked windows and funky tiles that have plenty of history. Seriously though this little place is not that bad. I think all these small silly things make this a very interesting and charming place. Its actually nice to live in a unique and old school unit. If you know anything about the Gables area you will know that this is a very old city with amazing historical architecture. We are walking distance to everything and the neighborhood is extremely quiet and safe. I think it might be time to move on soon but this little guy has been fun.
