Unwarranted charges and baseless claims
May 8, 2024When I moved in, the apartment wasn’t cleaned or painted and this was acknowledged by the Manager (the toilet wasn’t flushed, mold in bathroom, holes in walls, etc). When I left, Commerce Tower charged $1,365 for cleaning and painting, even though the defects existed prior to my occupancy. The elevator stopped working more than once. The I moved out before the lease term ended; nothing required notice whether I intended to pursue another lease (the lease stated if “does not automatically ...renew”). Nonetheless, Commerce Tower demanded rental of $2,243.27 for periods after the lease ended. Commerce Tower then turned the matter over to a collection agency and filed reports with the credit bureaus.Property Manager Responded

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT
June 10, 2021Got a new management company and they are just as bad as the previous. Takes over a week for maintenance to get anything done, no one in the leasing office answers the phones and of course the pool still isn't open (it's mid June). Just excuses after excuses with this place. If you want to live downtown, live somewhere else. They sell you on the amenitie's but something's always broke or not open.Property Manager Responded

February 7, 2021I’m going on my third year of living at commerce tower. My issue isn’t so much with the apartment but with the amount of noise I experience. I am writing this review at 330am due to my neighbors waking me up out of my sleep with their surround system. To me, because there are so many apartments on each floor, the floors are hardwood, and the walls are rather thin, I can hear everything. On average I probably get 5 hours of sleep due to the amount of noise waking me up out my sleep, my walls ...vibrating due to surround sound, or my neighbors holding fitness classes in the hallway. I would’ve moved after my first year, but I decided I would still it out after my program is over. Needless to say, I’m excited to move at the end of my lease and get some lease.Property Manager Responded

September 23, 2020Our experience at Commerce has been so far from excellent. We have not felt like adults through all the restrictions and constant reminders to be blindness sheep following all orders pushed our way. We are paying for amenities we can not freely use. There are changes that have been made that are not making our lives better, but rather more of an inconvenience. Our new management is always using the pandemic as a reason that they are not able to be great managers, but in all reality, a ...situation like this is when you are proven good or bad at management. After we have voiced our concerns to the office staff or management, we have found they are not attentive to for future inquiries or needs. Whether for an amenities request or for just basic questions. The apartment and amenities look sharp and great, but the most important thing to a quality life is those in control over you.
