I loved my apartment when Elme owned it. Once Cortland took over, everything went down hill and fast! One month it was double utilities, the next tried to charge for an amenity fee (been here 2.5yrs), then added wifi (I have x-finity). It’s like every month, they tried to find a way to get more money out of me. Luckily I was paying attention to my bills. But what sent me over the edge, was the FLOOD. My apartment flooded due to the negligence of the complex and some units above mine. I was ...
miserable, and unable to occupy my unit for 72 days. We’ve YET to resolve the problem. If you could find another company, I would shoot my shot with them.

I've had a great experience living here overall. I feel safe here and the upgrades management has made show they're invested in keeping things current.
Josh from the leasing office makes you feel like an individual person and not just a unit number.

Living at Courtland is an overall great experience. I love the amenities and the effort put behind community events. I've had no issues with bugs or rodents even living on a low level, which is to say alot in a city area like Alexandria. Overall I would recommend others to live here.

I’m very happy living at Cortland Landmark since 2018. It’s clean, bug free, smoke free, safe, quiet, and the staff is friendly and professional. Maintenance is fast too. My mom also moved in last year to a different floor and she’s very happy also. I highly recommend this building.

Living at Cortland had been a positive experience thus far. The amenities are great, I've had no major appliance or maintenance issues and thank God there are no rodent, pests or bug issues, which are a common thing in city areas. Overall I would and have recommended living here to family and friends.

Cortland at Landmark is a convenient location. The rent is average and comparable to other rentals in the area. The maintenance team is dedicated to providing quality service. The maintenance of the property grounds are important. However management can only do so much, the residents have to help keep the common area clean. Clean up after their pets.

I stayed at the Cascade at Landmark for three years. While the location is very convenient, the management is beyond shady and unresponsive. I frequently received errors in my rental invoices that when added up, could have amounted to a significant amount of money if I was not vigilant in monitoring my account. My apartment had roaches and it took weeks for them to send an exterminator. The elevators were constantly broken, and there was insufficient attention paid to basic maintenance in the ...
common areas. For the amount of rent charged here, the amenities are sub par at best. When I was finally fortunate enough to move out, I received only half of my deposit 3 months later, way past the legally allotted time of 45 days. Needless to say, I would not recommend anyone stay here.
