Alexandria, over a century of its birth, the City became a significant port, western side of the Potomac River. Alexandria lived and died due to the dependency and business of the Potomac River.

The weather in Alexandria provides four awesome seasons. The summer is perfect with an average high in the 80’s. Fall brings beautiful foliage with the average temperature of 60 degrees. Winters are calm, with an average high of 7 inches of snow and 40 degrees.

How do I get around town?

Getting around Alexandria is super easy! Some areas of the city apartments, everything you need is walking distance. But if walking is not an option and depending on where you want to go you have the options of taking the Free King Street Trolley, Metro rail and bus.

There are 3 airports within 10-15 minutes from the city. There is an Amtrak station, along with the Metro rail. Of course, there are taxis if you prefer. You will not have to wait long to travel around the city.

Why live in Alexandria, VA? Alexandria feels like living history but living for today. The amount of history is overwhelming and one never seems to learn everything, there is always something new. The pride that is taken in caring for and preserving so many historical landmarks is amazing. The ability to have such diverse options in activities is very important. One day could be a day spent in Old Town. The next day spent at the Potomac. The City is health focused and provides many parks, including dog parks and fitness centers. And the air is so clean!

Alexandria, VA is very rich in history and offers literally hundreds of landmarks. For example, The Carlyle House, Gadsby Tavern, Old Town, which is considered the “Heart of the City”, and George Washington’s Mt. Vernon. This is just a few locations, the entire City itself is a Landmark.

What is there to do around Alexandria?

Alexandria has a great night life with many restaurant/bars offering live music every night and due to the close proximity to everything, no need to drive! Go to Old Town and have a nice dinner while overlooking the Potomac River.

Alexandria holds so many festivals throughout the year they should consider adding Festival City to the name! In the fall the City offers a plethora of festivals in older built buildings because of all of the dead people that still live there of course.

Where are the nearby vacation spots?

Atlantic City! Only 196 miles gets you to a nice hotel on the beach, where you can obtain your appropriate amount of vitamin D and then take a stroll, just looking at the casinos. Baltimore, MD is another great place to visit – did you know that is where our National Anthem was penned?

Where is the best place to move in Alexandria?

Where? “Old Town” is a popular place. There is always something happening in Old Town and it is just a walk for apartment dwellers. Old Town North offers an atmosphere of pride it was the first city ever. The entertainment, the parks, the festivals wrap you in an ambience of warmth. Taylor Run is another great little spot in Alexandria. A walk from your apartment takes you to Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, Regional Park, Torpedo Factory Art, Ten Thousand Village Alexandria, Alexandria Archeology and this is naming some sites! Access to excellent restaurants and shopping. Another great place to be an apartment dweller.
