The Exchange, completed in 1910, once housed the Cotton and Merchant's Exchange where fortunes were won and lost. July 16, 2019I’m an attorney based in Memphis, TN, and I’ve lived at the exchange building for several years now. It’s a beautiful, historic high rise that’s centrally located in downtown Memphis, so it makes for an easy walk to Beale Street or the courthouse - on a bad night, both! The rent is affordable and, more importantly, the building is owned by a local family so you don’t have to worry about calling some corporate leasing office every time you need a ceiling light replaced or your garbage disposal ...fixed.
