Garden Court is a litlte oasis away from busy downtown Toronto. It is near several banks, bakeries, meat markets and fruit stores. It's accessible via bus, roads, etc. It has four corner gardens and a large middle ground.
Garden Court was renovated a few years ago during Covid. It lasted a long time and it was challenging to live through the changes. But, all construction and renovation are sore points. People forget this.

management. That is their choice. Frankly, those bad reviews are potentially from them and the two or three tenants out of the 100 enjoying the place. There are 100 or so low rise apartments and town homes. You don't get to meet all your neighbours, but eventually, you do run into the same ones.
I have lived here a while now. There is nothing like it in the city. Once you step in, you do not hear the trafic, you hear birds and peace. I love to be able to walk to the bakery and pick up some fresh bread, walk to Bayview and hit the vegetable store that is open late or go to Badali's to pick up some Fresh orange juice. There are two butchers, one posh and one old school. Either one offer great choices. There is a no Frills further up, a Loblaws near Moore, Longo's is on Laird and Farm Boy is in the Winners (we have a great Winners).
There is a local library nearby, a community pool at Yonge and Eglinton area. There are two buses that take you home (the 11 or 28 from Davisville). The new LRT Line is up on Bayview and Eglinton.
Is it perfect? No, but I don't think any place is. Is it enjoyable, yes. In fact, for many tenants that left downtown or arrived from a busy city, it is really lovely.
If you love architecture and slower pace, this is it. BUT if you are looking for a modern elevator condo, this is NOT it.
