Current and potential renters please take time to read this. The management in this apartment complex is appalling. The maintenance woman had given us verbal consent that we were allowed to have pets on a babysitting basis. However this was untrue, and cost us $250. This was just fine and there is a pet clause in the lease, but what happened next was unacceptable. After having conversations about the violation and having paid the fee, they still had hostility for my fiancé and me. This was
...apparent in the way they addressed us and spoke to us, both in person and over the phone. We had all of our paperwork ready for an emotional support animal for my fiancé's anxiety diagnosis to try and avoid medication, but they refused us this necessity based on past conversations and our prior violation. The younger woman (Sarah) told us she spoke to her supervisor/director and had come to this conclusion. We asked for this supervisors information, but were refused because, "it was a waste of their time."
At this time we were at a friends house and our dog barked, which was heard over the phone. The younger woman (Sarah), accused me right away of still housing the animal at our apartment. This was absolutely disgusting in how everything was handled and how the management addressed the issues we had, along with being rude and accusatory throughout the whole process.
At this time we are at a loss for how to remedy this, since they can choose to refuse a lease break. Other than that our other option for an emotional support animal is to revisit the situation after 60 days. There have been other altercations with the management, but this left me at a loss, leaving me attacked and hurt.
Some other negative things about these apartments are the extra fees for water, septic, and trash, which is usually included in the price of rent. The older woman (Dorothy) is coarse and unfriendly. They put paper fliers in everyone's door each month, which harms the overall elegance they provide. Lastly, they don't run their building well and it shows in the number of available apartments. There used to be one to two at most. I hope they are doing well and learn to have more respect for their potential and current residents.
