  • Building 75 is the worst building to be in

    May 11, 2022
I haven’t heard of any of the problems in any other building however the one I’m assigned is already settling. I was told that they were built in 2006. That’s still relatively new. The gates are always broken and in my unit it faces construction. It’s always noisy and everything breaks. I’m convinced my unit has water damage they keep brushing off. Great for if you own a pet but people don’t pick up after their dog. I loved their roommate matching system but that was about it.

  • It's a headache, location is the only positive

    April 22, 2022
    1. Signing gift were AirPods. Mine were never set aside and they gave my roommate's away. 2. Got towed 3 times as a resident. Resident parking was full so I parked in Visitors and maintenance. Got towed. 3. On move-out day, I had a (1) thumbtack left in my wall. I was charged $160 for them to repaint the wall. (Even though thumbtacks are allowed). 4. Parents came in town to gift me with groceries. Detergent was stolen off their tailgate while walking to my room and back. .....I could go on ...
and on, don't waste your time and money.

  • Don't Do It

    July 8, 2020
I lived here for two years. The first year was great, but my second year was not. The management changed over the summer, my rent went up (even though I renewed during a special where it should've stayed the same), the office employees are rude most of the time (and are constantly changing), and they don't upkeep all of their buildings. Certain floors in certain buildings are pressure washed (to remove the trash smell from the trash pickup in the halls), but mine never was. My building also ...
didn't get sprayed for bugs at all my second year, resulting in me having a roach problem that they tried to resolve by spraying ONLY my apartment. Not to mention my air went out and wasn't fixed for over a month. And if you get home anytime after 9PM during the week, good luck finding parking. The amenities are okay (but the pool is almost always dirty), but the only really great part about living here is being able to walk to class. I'm saving my money and living elsewhere next year.

  • The Worst Possible Place to Live in Starkville

    December 9, 2019
Helix’s management is so dysfunctional and unprofessional that it makes it actual hell to live here. Our A/C has broken twice (and is still broken), the gates break frequently, our washer has been broken for over a week, and the staff is very unhelpful. If you want to live somewhere where the “amenities” are actually usable, don’t live here.

  • Aweful Apartment Complex

    October 29, 2018
I advise anyone to not stay here! The staff has been completely changed from last year, even management. The staff are incompetent and uncaring about Helix residents. They will tell you anything to sign the lease and can not deliver! Helix rent is way more expensive than everyone else, and they don’t have the living experience to back it up.

  • Lease Somewhere Else

    July 18, 2016
DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE!!!! Especially if you're extremely involved in clubs or Greek life which will require you to come early! Aside from being extremely overpriced, they are shady and will tell you ANYTHING to get you to sign a lease. My roommate and I felt bullied from the very beginning. The only reason we signed was because we were PROMISED early move-in on July 31 for recruitment. Fast forward to now, and they refuse to let us move in until August 11. What are a bunch of college kids ...
supposed to do about living arrangements for 11 days? Had we known about the lack of ethics this company has, we would have lived elsewhere. Save your money and lease with a company who is ethically sound and honest.
