Awesome maintenance staff!!!
July 19, 2023We moved into Honey Creek in October and it has been such a pleasure. The office staff is always nice and helpful and maintenance responds lightning fast. I turned in a few work orders last week and Tyree came over within the hour to make sure our problems were addressed. Honey Creek you rock!!!Review from Apartments.com
Beautiful Grounds!!!

I love my new apartment!!!
August 3, 2021I just moved in and the apartment is so cute. They have stainless steel appliances and nice grade carpet. I know it is a little pricey, but the location and the apartment are perfect. Also I love Crystal. She is so awesome!Property Manager Responded

Some of these reviews are not true!
November 7, 2015Couldn't ask for a better place to live! The apt size is big, it's a clean area with the mgr and maintenance always going above and beyond to fix the place up and keep it safe and clean. I'm handicapped and when I need help Tracy and John is always there. We plan on staying here for along time. Some of these reviews are totally wrong , some people are just not happy know matter where they live. I recommend honey creek apts to anyone. The office staff is amazing and always coming up with new ideas ...to improve the property and making the residents happy. Thank you Tracy and John for making news changes and helping all the tenants when in need. You both are awesome!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Honey Creek
November 2, 2015Honey Creek apartments is a great place to rent from. The community itself is clean and quiet. The apartment itself is nice, big and spacious. They are well kept up with and any repairing you need done is done on the spot. I have truly enjoyed renting from them.Review from Apartments.com
Updated Review, still less quality than we pay for, but it's a decent place to live.
September 28, 2013I'm going to rely a lot on my experience here, so this review will focus heavily on how this apartment affects my day-to-day life. The above rating system only captures the most generic information. Edit* The only reason I recommend this place is because it is a safe area it seems. Some people may find it nice, others may feel as I do. Getting around: This complex has adequate parking, but it is a cramped road in which only one side of the road has a sidewalk to walk on. It's also curved, so ...driving down the road, and over the ever-annoying speed-bumps, can be annoying. For example, kids tend to not pay attention to cars coming down the road, but neither child nor driver can see one another until they are already in the road. This is because the sidewalk and building entryways are largely concealed from view until any person walks past the cars, directly in the road. Sidewalks only exist on State Road 135 and one side of the road inside the Complex. The complex sidewalk is not ideal for riding a bike or running a dog because of people and lack of continuity. 135 is usually too busy to bother crossing with a dog or bike, so one can really only travel down one side of 135 which means dealing with intersections. The country roads that form a perimeter around the complex 'block' do not have sidewalks to ride down. They have less traffic than 135 but enough to require sidewalks for safety purposes. The Complex's main road is just too cramped, full of speed-bumps, and small to allow joyful exercise. Dumpsters: They have 4 dumpsters that hold the complex's trash. The problem is ALL of the dumpsters are inconveniently place towards the very front of the complex. All of the people in the back area (look at Maps for a layout) have to walk their trash quite a distance. It's just an annoyance. When it's cold, it's just better to drive the trash when you're already on your way to do something. Maintenance: Maintenance claims to be 24/7. The staff is extremely respectful and nice. Weekend maintenance isn't truly 24/7 because it is only in case of emergency. Even then, however, they do not respond swiftly to emergencies all of the time. This seems to be because the Apartment's organization makes too little maintenance people travel long distances between complexes. Not only that, there was probably miss-communication in shift switching from one tech to another. On another occasion within 10 minutes a tech was at my place on the weekend to fix multiple issues. Every time I thought of something he took a look at something and fixed it on the spot if he had the right equipment. All along he was the most respectful, kind maintenance guy I've ever met. The lack of regular weekend staff is extremely annoying. Working full time means I can't be there during the week to watch them work in the apartment. Instead, they have to let themselves in, and I have to trust these people I don't know to not steal a single thing in my apartment. It makes it feel much less secure. It also makes one feel like we are getting ripped off. We pay for an apartment for the convenience. Since we have no equity in this property, we expect to have consistent maintenance response and peace of mind. Amenities: The screens are all of poor quality. They allow bugs in. The hallways where our entry doors are located are often extremely dirty and the lights attract huge amounts of bugs. The street lights put out a TON of light pollution. They are there to light up the main road, but they also light up every single room in the apartments that face the road. Remember, the road is extremely close to the apartments, so it's hardly dark at all in the rooms at night. If one likes to sleep in darkness, they really have to get dark curtains of some sort. Appliances such as fridges, stoves, dish-washers are all included. Dryer and Washer are NOT included. They have to be rented, bought, or used at the community laundry located ONLY at the front office area; however, the appliances that do exist are extremely old with good upkeep that has them well past their prime. However, the maintenance guy I mentioned above has been over to fix any appliance issues. The good upkeep can only do so much, though. The toilets are terrible as well. They are extremely small toilets. They never over-flow due to small flush size. They do often get clogged though. It is very easy to clog the toilet. so many times one has to use a plunger. Again, though, they don't overflow. They are just terrible at doing their job. Apartment: The apartment is fairly spacious, but their rooms are targeted towards families. They have one bedroom that is massive and private with its own bathroom, but the other is much smaller with only a closet. This isn't ideal for roommates, but if you don't care to have a big room then great. The walls are terrible. All around, every wall you can think of is made of poor quality material regarding sound and insulation. The walls between adjacent rooms, rooms above and below, and walls next to the main hallway allow all sound to travel inside. I can hear word for word conversations between those above me when they argue (yes elevated voices but not terribly loud). I can hear when they walk, when they flush, when they open and shut door or cabinets. I can hear those walking in the hallway. My roommate and I can hear through our walls easily. Office: The office only accepts money-orders and checks which are very inconvenient for modern day payment systems. Debit transaction would be nice. They have no online payment method. Office hours are extremely inconvenient for full-time 8-5 workers. The office is only open 8-5 Monday through Friday. This has a few implications, one of which is that it makes it difficult to get packaged mail. The mail area is tiny with small locker mailboxes. Packages typically can't fit in there, and they can't be left at our front doors because of shared hallway space accessible to anyone and everyone; consequently, the packages are left at the office for us to pick up. It becomes a chore to arrange a time to pick up a package from the office when they are only open while one is working. Overall opinion: It is better than many complexes from the safety, location, and spacial aspect. It has many many annoyances and shortcomings for how much it costs though. The area is just not fantastic enough to warrant such prices. I'd say you get less than what you pay for, but it is safe and spacious.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
You get what you pay for
September 12, 2013These apartments were priced lower than others in the area. Once I visited I knew why. I visited during a time when the office said it would be open yet no one was there. There is no club house (so no pool, exercise room etc.) - just a small office. The appearance of the community was not as well-kept as others I visited. Overall, I would say the rent was low because this is a lower-quality community.Review from Apartments.com
cheap for the area/quality isn't the best
August 26, 2014Honey Creek is affordable but you get what you pay for . You can hear everything from the people above and below you . They will move anyone and everyone in here just to meet their "numbers". We have lived here for a couple of years now and have been through 2 maintenance men and 3 apartment managers. No one is ever on the same page . Maintenance is amazing! No he cannot be here for every want and need. He has a life outside of his job. John is the best maintained man we have had yet. He's very ...nice and knows what he is doing which says a lot for honey Creek maintenance. The manager in the office changes so frequently I really can't say I like or dislike them . Jaime was amazing! She was personable and business oriented. That's so important! Now we are going on manager #4. It's about once a year they fire the manager and hire new . There's absolutely no amenities here not even a side walk! Not even dumpsters and not enough parking . I have to say though it's center Grove schools and the rent is affordable but again you get what you pay for . There's a lot of traffic in and out of this place. That's concerning. Over all though despite all the flaws it is a good place to live for a short amount of time. One thing I don't like is you will never know your neighbors. Every one is so anti social. I would recommend honey Creek for a "starter" place to live.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

People don't care here
September 27, 2014I have lived here for almost a year now and we are on our third office manager. This new manager doesn't care at all if you report problems. There isn't supposed to be smoking in the hallways or in the mail box area, but people still do it and throw their cigarette butts down. You are supposed to clean up after your dog, but people allow their dogs to feces anywhere, including the wall way to the mail boxes. I live on the third floor and the people underneath me constantly slam their doors and ...you can feel it. They are always running throughout their apartment and you can hear it and feel it. The best thing about this apartment community is the maintenance guy, John.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

horrible
November 6, 2014I have never experienced such an incompetent office staff. The service is horrible and tenner respect and interactions are even worse. The only positive thing I.have to say is the maintenance man is lovely and the noise level is always at a respectable level.Review from Apartments.com
