There’s a hearkening appeal to the building, as contrasted to today’s cookie cutter rabbit-hutch layout of square footage saving buildings. As for the apartment the make-ready move-in was good, new counter/sink, carpet, vinyl and ceiling fan. I’m a down to the grout type inspector so good is good while looking for exceptional. The rent is reasonable with interesting foods/shops nearby and malls in every driving direction. Cons: Yes, the neighborhood is run down and the kids and clowns tag and litter. The grit and grime of a rough neighborhood is punctuated by permanent sidewalk stains of gum. The maintenance of the building is maintained but not improving, when standing still isn’t an option you have to ask if entropy is going to win. Time and attrition will tell. Inside, the kitchen cupboard doors need replacing being painted once too often. I’ve never had roaches and I’ve found a few in the kitchen and bathroom classic plumbing areas. I haven’t completed my anti-bug-blitz but assume this is going to be a mute issue. I moved to Independence Court Apartments because the price point is in my comfort zone with ease of access for work, to friends, family and fun times.
