Renters Reviews and Ratings
fine if you're used to living in a dorm room
December 3, 2016I was in a rush to find a new place, and for the area, it seemed reasonable. The units are decent size, with lots of storage. Giant balconies with decent views, nothing spectacular. Cute kind of retro-inspired decor on the splash backs. Small fitness room that is usually empty. That's about it for the good stuff. The elevator is gross. I was told it was being remodeled but looks the same as when I toured it. The stairs are not much better. The halls and door exteriors are dirty and sloppily ...painted, and while the units themselves are fairly quiet, you can hear EVERYTHING from the hall. Not much privacy, and someone on my floor has THE most obnoxious dogs that bark like crazy every time someone walks past. My ice maker didn't work when I moved in two months ago and is still not fixed. The cheapo shower curtain rod broke the first month and damaged some of the tiles in my shower, which I'm sure I'll be responsible for at move out, even though it wasn't my fault. The leasing agent said there was a 4-6 week wait list for parking when I signed my lease, which wasn't going to be too inconvenient since I was out of town for a while immediately following my move. It's now more than two months later and the new property manager is still doing and 'audit' on the parking. Luckily I have been able to find reasonable street parking, but I get home from work late and don't feel super comfortable walking around Colfax late at night. Overall not THE worst place, but it sucks getting the bait and switch and being straight up lied to. From what I can gather, I'm not alone in this. Do yourself a favor and lease elsewhere.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
