Beautiful apartment - not so great experience
July 24, 2025Beautiful apartment, amazing location - ruined by horrible management. I lived here for a little over two years and loved my actual apartment. The space was beautiful, full of charm and character, and the neighbors were great. The location truly can’t be beat. But management is passive and not dog friendly at all. There are zero amenities - just shared laundry - and the building had recurring bug problems. Worst of all was the management. Olivia, the building owner, was notorious for ...videotaping tenants and Kelly from Chapman Management was rude, unprofessional, and completely unreachable for months at a time. They were consistently dismissive and made every interaction feel hostile. The only bright spot was Melinda, the leasing manager, who was kind and responsive. They advertise this as a dog-friendly building, but it’s absolutely not. I had multiple disturbing encounters with both Olivia and Kelly regarding my dog, and they made it clear pets were barely tolerated. Pets aren’t allowed on the grass at any time If they are, you will be photographed and your lease will be threatened. I know many other tenants were required to carry their dog to the grass area several hundred feet away from the building. Both Olivia and Kelly truly ruined my experience in this building. Great place to live
March 31, 2025I have lived at Manor House for over two years and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to live close to Old Town Alexandria. It is conveniently located between two major metro stops, with several restaurants and coffee shops a short walking distance away. Management is responsive and takes care to meet residents’ needs. Nice neighbors and friendly management
November 3, 2024I’ve lived at Manor House for years, and I really like my bright first floor apartment. From my apartment, I’m close to great restaurants, and I have walked to Art on the Avenue and other fun Del Ray events. I know a lot of my neighbors since the building is full of friendly people. The building is well cared for and the hallways are cleaned every weekday. There are always flowers in the garden at the front doors. The staff in the office are helpful, and maintenance has taken care of things in my ...apartment right away when I’ve needed them (which hasn’t been often). Life is good at Manor House
October 22, 2024I was initially attracted to the beautiful grounds and wonderful character filled apartments, but after living here for almost a year, I see that Manor House is so much more. I love the crown moldings, wood floors, vintage bath tiles, and modern appliances, but more than that is the warm feeling of "home" I get whenever enter my apartment, sit in the courtyard or walk through the Del Ray neighborhood. Manor House

Love Manor House!

The management and maintenance teams take a personal interest in the residents, are very quick to respond to maintenance needs & resident concerns, and are so kind, warm and helpful. They really make Manor House a home! And the area, Del Ray, is such an ideal location. What I like about living in Del Ray is the proximity to nice places to eat, shop, fix your car, etc, not more than a 3-10 minute walk from Manor House. It's a very dog-friendly community, with loads ...of nice parks and walking trails. It's city and small town at the same time, a very interesting and enjoyable combination. December 2, 2023I have been a tenant at Manor House for two years and have been extremely satisfied. They have met all my expectations and needs especially when repairs come up. Staff have been welcoming and pleasant to communicate with despite busy schedules. The unit I rent is well maintained, cozy, and modern. I enjoy the Del Ray neighborhood and feel safe even to walk as a single female later in the evening. Neighbors look out for one another and the area is very family and pet friendly. What’s great ...about living here is easy access by foot to restaurants, grocery, mechanic, and even pharmacy!
