The owners and maintenance people seem nice enough, but they neglected to inform us about the mice, the cockroaches, and the BED BUGS. Not to mention something is seriously wrong with the water, not just like low quality city tap water. It makes us horribly sick, and my dog as well. We only drink bottled water, which is unfortunate because the paid water is one of the reasons we moved here.
It's affordable and the apartments themselves aren't too bad, save for the cracks in the walls and doors. ...
But any amount of spraying is not going to deal with this major roach / bed bug problem, they've offered to heat treat the place if we could leave for a few days, but even that is only a temporary fix because the bugs will just come back from the other apartments. They are not willing to hire an actual exterminator, and will not pay for an kind of treatment other than bug spray. 2-3 times a week there's new furniture dumped out by the dumpsters from people who were infested too bad to salvage their stuff.
When I asked the landlady about it, she said "Well we weren't aware of it in that particular unit." I said "if one apartment has bed bugs, they all will, especially with old drainage systems and cracks in the walls." and then she said, "Well are you going to try to keep your furniture?"
If I were to buy new furniture (which I cannot afford to do, hence needing an affordable home), it would just get infested within weeks. Yes, I want to keep my furniture. I paid for it. I wasn't anticipating it being ruined when I moved in here.
