These apartments are overpriced for their quality and the area (Chula Vista is a lower middle-class neighborhood). I have been a resident for 8 months, and so many things still bother me.
Firstly, there's minimal security. Anyone off the street can walk up to your door or your car. In fact, some residents have had multiple car break-ins. You have to pay $4.50 to do laundry in shared machines. This really adds up, and there are so many cheaper apartments with in-unit machines. I can hear every ...
footstep my upstairs neighbor takes; when they exercise, my whole apartment shakes and rattles! There's also a lot of noise pollution from the nearby highway (we are right by the 805 — it's awful) and the leaf blower crew, which comes around almost everyday. Furthermore, you can imagine how the highway and leaf blower fumes ruin the air quality.
Next, I want to highlight the leasing office's business practices. Before I signed my lease, an agent called to let me know my rent has to increase a little. Now I wonder if the prices shown online are accurate. Also, have you noticed most online reviews gush about the management team without actually discussing the apartments? All I will say is this is suspicious.
You would expect more for such prices. I mean, there are apartments in the city going for similar rates! I am anxious to move out, and I suggest you also look elsewhere.

Military Friendly. The staff really did what they could to help me secure a room after I suddenly needed a change of residence right before we went out to sea. Good accommodations are easy to find. Good customer service, though is hard to come by and I would recommend Point Bonita to my friends based on that alone.

These apartments are overpriced. The finishing and appliances are outdated; it all looks very '90s. There are few light fixtures, so you have to buy lamps. The apartments don't have in-unit washers/dryers, so you have to pay $5 to do laundry in gross communal machines. The AC is in the living room so the bedroom doesn't cool. Small bugs get through the windows. I dealt with houseflies, fruit flies, and spiders in my first week.
There's no security apart from your door lock. The community isn't ...
gated and there are no security guards. Additionally, there's only 1 leasing agent for the entire property, so it takes persistence for your issues to be addressed.
Your WiFi options are limited to either Cox cable or slow AT&T (fastest plan is 25 Mbps). There's no fiber optics, no Verizon, Xfinity, or Spectrum. You end up paying a lot for outdated interent.
You can find much better places that aren't outdated in this price range. Keep searching.

I have never lived in a complex where the water or the electricity gets shut off for a whole day about once a month. As well as my packages are getting dropped off at the wrong house due to the numbers!
