Major issues with plumbing and heating
May 17, 2025While I have lived here for 2 years and 10 months, I've had major plumbing issues from dirty water to no water to no hot water. Someone else's water backed up into my apartment and up through the kitchen sink and running over the counter and onto the floor. They ignored my work orders and my emergency phone calls for a full week as the water kept creeping up into the sink. I kept bailing it out and dumping it into a toilet or bathtub. When I could not babysit the sink because I had to go to work, ...the flood damaged most things that were in my lower cupboards and the dirty water damaged not only my rug in the living room but the fabric on the lower part of my sofa also. There were enormous lard deposits in the dishwasher that stunk up the entire apartment for months. They refused to help clean any of it up and I was on my own. They refused to compensate me in any way whatever. It took weeks for me to get it to some place you could call clean. I couldn't use my kitchen for 10 days because of this issue. They didn't get a plumber out for another couple of days after the flood. If you decide to live here you're going to have to live like a preper. There will be days in the winter below zero whereby you have no heat whatsoever. They do not care. You and your pet will be miserable. In the summertime they will crank the heat up and leave it on until it's 85° in your apartment with the air conditioning running. You have no control over heat as the whole building has radiator heat. They will not turn it on until it's 40° out for several consecutive days. So keep a bank of drinking water in your closet and make sure to get an extra electric heater. They want you to pay the electric bill so they can save on gas. On top of all that, management is vindictive and will act retaliatory to your complaints.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
SCAM COMPANY
March 20, 2025I had an appointment. When I got there, the people in the office had no clue that I was coming to view one of their units. I had to wait an entire hour for them to get a model ready for me to review. While we were in the model, they told me that if I was interested, I would need to give them documentation and a holding fee. I told her that I was not going to do a holding fee until I knew that I had been approved for the apartment. I explained to her that if I am looking at and paying an ...application fee for 5 different apartment complexes and all of them are requiring a holding fee, I would be out of over 1000.00 and would have to wait to get my money back from each location and that is tying up too much of my money and still have to pay for moving. She then told me that we can see before I leave if I would be approved so that I will feel comfortable putting money down on the apartment as a holding fee. I told her ok. I also asked them did they have mice. The agent could not promise me that they DID NOT have mice, but they claim to exterminate monthly. While I was in the office with them SHE did my application in the office. I gave her my ss#, identification, and how much I made (verbally). I also paid 65.00 application fee. After putting everything in the system she told me that I would not qualify for the apartment because I had a balance showing up on my credit that I owed another apartment complex. I asked her was she telling me that we can not move forward and she confirmed. A few days later I get all kind of emails telling me that I need to pay the holding fee for the apartment or my application will be trashed! I explained what was told to me and all of a sudden the agent has amnesia! She new that I was not going to pay the holding fee so she told me what I wanted to hear so that she can at least get the application fee from me SCAM. I have been trying to get them to fix an issue they caused and they are totally ignoring me. Do not waste your money
May 29, 2024The buildings are falling apart. The elevators are constantly out and they never fix anything. The ladies in the office are very nice, except for the two managers who are never there and don't do anything that they say they will do. I am a 60 yr old Grandmother and I have never been treated with such disrespect. This property was seen numerous times on local tv because renters complained about repairs not being done. They have been reported to the city over and over again and management does ...NOTHING except continue to demand rent. A good place to live if you work at making it so.
October 13, 2023I see that there haven't been any recent reviews, so I'll write one. I've lived here at QHT for a long time, and I really love my apartment. The layout is nice with a lot of room for my things and a lot of outlets for TV, computer, appliances, etc. I find that any living experience is going to have some problems, but if you commit to working them out you can have a good life wherever you are. Quality Hill Towers is under new management and they appear to be making improvements. I would say ...give the place a chance and keep your options open. Don't go into any choices blindly. Roaches everywhere, the apartments are not cleaned before move in, the building hasn’t been cleaned since probably 1900, don’t even think about submitting a maintenance request because it will never be fixed.Property Manager Responded
