July 30, 2023It’s a really great environment you don’t hear any outside noises around the complex. Other than the cars driving by but the community is very friendly and welcoming . Everyone minds their business and the apartment is secured with polices . It’s a great way to live affordable and comfortable. The managers are very nice and front office staff is helpful and very professional. DO NOT MOVE HERE
June 4, 2023I could go on and on about how negligent and disgusting this place is but I’d be wasting my time. If you wanna know how unprofessional this place is, they blocked me / deleted my comments on social media after I posted how bad it actual is. They won’t let me put in any maintenance requests, they won’t respond to my texts or calls the last few months either. Can’t take the truth.Review from Apartments.com
Maggots, Roaches
December 9, 2021Moved in April 2021, roaches were all over the floors, walls, but worst of all, the entire stove was flooded with roaches. I moved out November 2, 2021—roaches were still there, except worse. Yep, management never once answered my requests, in fact they refused to spray my apartment because I had a dog. We also battled maggots tirelessly. Awful place. Awful awful awful management.Review from Apartments.com

July 24, 2020Garbage. Gate is always broken. Parking lot floods with slightest chance of rain. Maintenance staff is unhelpful and unprofessional. Management is laughably incompetent. Literally any place in Baton Rouge is better to live at than here.Property Manager Responded

Even though we do not have you as a resident in our system. at The Retreat at Brightside we strive to provide the best service to anyone. We regret that your experience has been less than stellar. In regard to flooding, we go to great lengths to ensure the safety of our residents and their belongings. Louisiana is of course below sea level, so pockets of water are sadly common during extremely heavy rains. With that said, The Retreat at Brightside was designed to handle water drainage quite well – as evident by our property sustaining zero flood damage during “The flood of 2016”.
