Lived here for four years and never had working air-conditioning. They would just keep filling up with Freon and never fixing the issue. The washer and dryers never worked so I would have to take it to a laundromat. You can’t get a hold of their maintenance or any of the office people. They keep the doors locked, so good luck trying to get in. They randomly add prices to rent without explanation. I moved out two years ago and they hit my credit for an unpaid balance. My roommate and I lived in Southfield for 4 years. They ignored ceiling issues through all of our leases even though it was documented with pictures and in email. They offered to let residents use deposit as rent credit without having to pay it back because of rent increases but upon moving out they considered things like painting as “damages” instead of normal wear and tear and charged double the deposit.(over 2,000 upon moving out) they also let us choose our accent wall color when we moved in, ...
so this would need to be repainted anyway, but just know when you leave they’ll accuse you of damages for having to repaint this wall. Very dishonest. We included our laundry card and mail keys upon leaving and they charged us for the laundry card anyway, but somehow got the keys that were in the package together. They don’t answer phone calls and are not usually available to help tenants. Amenities are outdated and half the laundry room only works some of the time and it’s on you to call the help number if the machines aren’t working. I’ve heard new ownership/management caused a lot of these issues. They offer to pay people for referrals of other tenants because they can’t get tenants to live there on their own. Ironically, if they just improved these conditions they wouldn’t have to bribe current tenants to bring new ones in. They also disabled google reviews because of bad ratings. Southfield is decent now after new management. They advertise their THREE pools but last summer only one was partially open. They didn’t not accommodate our rent for not being able to use the pools during pool season and had POOR communication in regards to the status of the other pools and when that ONE pool would be open. They do allow dogs even the dinosaur ones so their poop is everywhere. Last, there are a lot of middle age & nosy neighbors. So I wouldn’t completely recommend but the ...

I live in a 2 bedroom and I have a place for everything. I like the colors of the cabinets. It’s nice having storage off the balcony. Seems like a nice area to live in. It’s pretty quiet here at least in my building. There are 3 pools which is nice since there are a lot of people living here.

I wouldn't even give this place 1 star. They used to be really good to their residents here. Since new owners have taken over. They are extremely money hungry. You have to pay for every little thing. Then if you are late its $100.00 extra per week. Its nearly impossible to get caught up. Month isn't even over an already have attorney threats on your door. So everyone can see it. They only thing they care about is money.

This place is an absolute dump, from trashy neighbors to rotting building structures. Maintenance is an absolute joke, not responding to complaints, and or maintaining the grounds. neighbors are horrible as well, from slamming doors at four in the morning to stomping and playing loud music. if you are reading this review, do yourself a favor, avoid this place. There are plenty of places in oakville that you can rent from that are halfway decent. Not to mention fights break out at the "dog park" ...

The Maintenance and Office crew are great and the grounds are well kept. I'm not a swimmer but knowing I can take my grandsons to 1 of the 3 pools if I wanted is nice. The 2 laundry facilities are nice to have as well. My only issue is that 95% of the dog owners do not respect the grounds or the other people that live there. If you’re looking for a budget friendly apartment Southfield is for you. The grounds are well kept and pools are nice and clean. Never have had any issues with the office. Maintenance could be better but it is a big complex. The dog park is nice and the fitness center is a plus. My only overall complaint is the amount of commercial vehicles that park here and take up 2-3 spots or just park in the grass blocking an entire walkway.

My apartment complex is very peaceful and clean I love the area and how I am facing the swimming pool. The curb appeal is always nice and well kept the ladies in the office are super friendly and are always there to help. even if they don't have an answer they will find a way to get one.
