I feel so lucky to live here!
February 17, 2021My husband and I moved into ST in 1974, we raised our children here, and continue to appreciate living in a "park" right in Manhattan. My apartment is rent-stabilized, so I don't have a lot of the amenities that more recently renovated market rate apartments do, but I love my beautiful apartment and wouldn't trade it for anything. When I walk through ST/PCV I feel so lucky to live in such a wonderful environment.Review from Apartments.com
TERRIBLE
February 3, 2021I've lived here almost 8 years. It's awful. Incredibly noisy. Negligent management. Our neighbors harass us and we don't feel safe. No way you could work from home here. You're lucky if you can sleep. By far the worst apartment I've lived in in my 40+ yrs of apartment living.Review from Apartments.com

Bedbugs.
December 1, 2020First the good: I lived there over 30 years, raised my children in Stuyvesant Town. The apartments are spacious, maintenance is prompt and reliable, and the leasing office is helpful and professional. The grounds are lovely, and it an oasis in Manhattan. Now the bad: these are prewar buildings so the plumbing is old and there is no insulation so you hear your neighbors and corner apts can be very chilly. Like me, you may have chronic problems with bathtub water backing up into your bathtub from ...your neighbor’s apartment if your bathroom is opposite theirs. You can hear everything in your upstairs neighbor’s apartment, from silverware rustling in the kitchen drawer, TV, rambunctious children jumping around so your pictures shake on the wall etc., but these issues come and go. The reason I left was because my neighbor had bedbugs that traveled into my apartment. Stuyvesant Town was very proactive doing all they could to eliminate them, but bedbugs are a problem that the tenant has to address as well. Removing affected furniture, clothes, etc and a a slew of other necessary actions that must be adhered to, or the bugs will never leave. This was my problem, the neighbor was not doing enough to get rid of them. Or maybe she was and it just didn’t help. It was a harrowing experience that cost me thousands of dollars- not from Stuy Town, their exterminator is free, but I hired my own exterminators as well who heat treated everything I own. The Stuy Town exterminator told me 20% of residents have bedbugs! He thought it was because there are lots of student roommates there who get furniture off the street to furnish their apts. Favorite Apartment / Complex / Neighborhood / Staff Ever
August 24, 2019First of all, I don't believe in CAPS unless you're yelling or BEING EMPHATIC! I don't know what all the other noise is about, but I just moved in and I'm pretty impressed (and I have HIGH standards). My apartment is SO QUIET. I have always lived in busier neighborhoods, even on West End Avenue it was louder. The fit and finish are fantastic. I didn't find anything of this caliber unless the apartment was significantly smaller and 50% more expensive. A couple tiny issues, but they have been on ...top of checking to make sure everything is perfect and already scheduled times to fix them. This is normal. The apartment was literally SPOTLESS when I moved in. As someone who is pretty OCD, I'm stunned. I couldn't find a spec of dust inside any of the kitchen cupboards. My place has ebony floors (old school, stunning parquet) and the modern trim package - plus some major upgrades like custom closets, a Wolf Range, built in refrigerator and dishwasher - and every inch of that kitchen is planned out for the most storage possible. I applied within 30 minutes of seeing it. This 1br, 1ba is a bit smaller than where I was previously on the UWS, and a bit lower ceilings, but I feel like the trade was more than worth it. Outside every window is greenery. As someone who formerly ran a landscaping company and worked for a landscape architect, I appreciate how beautifully landscaped it is - like living in a park. There are so many conveniences right at your fingertips. Chase Bank, a post office box, Starbucks, and much more - within 3-5 minutes walk from my unit. It's a real community - like a neighborhood. I've never really had that anywhere I've lived in the city. I have wanted to live here since 2002 and am very happy to finally be here. The leasing team (Henrietta and Ecaterina were delightful. The welcome center - I think Jacob and Edith have been superb and the maintenance staff even offered to help break down my boxes for recycling. Everyone here wants you to have an amazing experience. No wonder people move here and never leave. I'm seriously just waiting for them to tell me that it was an accident and that my rent is 50% more than I'm paying - it's THAT NICE.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Stuy Town 1 Bedroom - Converted to 2 BR
July 21, 2015The apartment I am in is a 1 Bedroom unit that Stuy Town converted for us into a 2 Bedroom. Living room is on the small side, but we do have enough room for table that seats 4 and a pull out couch. Tons of room in the bedrooms and close space is ample. Stuy Town itself is a great location. It is in a great neighborhood, I particularly love Alphabet City. The amenities of Stuy Town are great. The gigantic lawn is great in the summertime, and it truly is a nice place to walk around. Few ...downsides are sometimes it can take awhile to get some of their maintenance personnel to your apartment, but generally it did not take longer than 2 days.
