July 24, 2025I was a resident for 5 years. The only reason I stayed was I was getting pre-covid rent pricing and location. They do not care about you as a tenant at all. They say they open at 9 am however on multiple occasion I was still getting the call back during business hours at 9:30 sometimes even at 10 am. Manager belittled me and was very rude and disrespectful when I was asking to change roommates as she said it was excessive. That I need to move into an apartment by myself. I cannot control other ...people's decisions to move out for a better job opportunity elsewhere nor can I control people wanting to move into a house with their partner nor could i control people losing their jobs during covid, so they had to move back home. They changed management and nobody knew about it. I was abroad and trying to pay rent. The system wasn't working and my roommate said they needed an in person check that month. No notices of this whatsoever I would have made arrangements to do so. I had to call them several times from aboard to deal with trying to get them to accept a late check because I was abroad. I shouldn't have had to call 5 times to get someone on the phone to answer the questions. Let's not even talk about my outrageous phone bill that month trying to deal with this and never being notified beforehand. Don't even get me started on their pest control. I had to live with roaches for a year because they would say they asked someone to come spray, but they never showed up. I think we saw them 3 times in that one year and that didn't do anything. We kept bombing the apartment, but they kept sowing up. I even got the apartment professional cleaned several times to see if that would help and it didn't. Don't expect anyone in the office to help you with any issues you might have. They are very short staffed in Maintenace workers. The one that always came was amazing and was about the only helpful person on the property. They only thing going for this place is the location. It's in a great Neiborhood that is quite and close to everything. Bottom line do not rent here. The pictures look nice but the appliances you have are not worth it.Property Manager Responded

(Current resident) Stay away they don't care about you
February 12, 2025I've lived here for years recently underwent change in ownership and has been a living hell since, ceiling leaks when the dryer is used, mold problems they won't deal with, constant problems with nonhelpful front office. And recently they forced smartrent thermostat and front door lock, they took away the privacy bolt with no notifications. Took away key access to my own apartment. And now to change any code forces me to download an app I don't want or even feel safe using. Used to be a great ...complex but now don't expect any real rights or care or listening to you. Your just a number they don't give any kind of care to you as a person. Stay away they just give you a rehearsed reply telling you to be ok with less security and less privacy.Property Manager Responded

Now that it’s not the retreat it’s awful
January 6, 2025Loved living here when it was the Retreat but since changing management we’ve only had bad experiences. Loud landscaping at 7 am, maintenance/work crews entering our apartment with less than 24 hours notice, it took them a month to set up our new portal to pay rent online (after giving us 3 days notice that December’s rent would need to be paid by check) and the portal still doesn’t work properly resulting in nasty notes and emails from management. We also were locked out of some amenities over ...the holidays without warning. Definitely feels like they want us to leave so they can charge an even more exorbitant amount for rent.Property Manager Responded
January 7, 2025Thank you for your review. It is always our priority to provide excellent customer service, if we have fallen short I offer my sincere apologies. The landscape crew start working between 8:00AM and 8:30AM. The maintenance supervisor and I are at work when they arrive, to explain anything that needs addressing that particular week. If you are hearing landscaping in the future at 7:00AM please let me know so that I can address it with the Home Owner Association. The new company who purchased the community are an excellent company. As I am sure you can appreciate, things take a little while to be put in to place, like the portal. It was up and running as soon as possible. The amenities were not closed over the holiday, this may have been an issue with your fob. When we enter your apartment a notice is either posted on your door, the resident portal or you have requested a service for repair. We appreciate all of our residents here at Talcott. This community has awesome location near all possible families daily needs and great neighborhood. The well designed community has very good apartment distribution and plenty of parking, pool, etc etc. Office staff are friendly and always willing to comply with our needs.
