I only stayed in the landings for 1 year, due to excessive mold. When I moved out, the landlord wanted to charge me almost $1000 to replace the carpet. There were a few stains and 1 small hole in the carpet. The landlord also wanted to charge me for blinds which to my understanding is normal wear and tear. I have pictures of the unit after I cleaned and repainted walls while a resident. I paid my rent on time, and had no trouble until I moved out. Their way of taking care of mold is to paint ...
over it. I have proof.

Please get me out of here. I moved to Gastonia, a town that I am unfamiliar with, and I should have researched apartments better. The apartment is very nice inside...but the hallways are filthy! There is one door into and out of the bldg...you have to have a key or get buzzed in, but people block the door with something to keep it open all the time. Within 3 days of moving here someone tried to break into my apartment. within 3 weeks someone hit my car and ran...leaving me with the damage to ...
pay. Last week someone "egged' my car. I was told by a neighbor that someone in another apt thought that I had called the cops on them for smoking pot...but I had called them about the B&E and the Hit & Run. Then, 2 days ago, someone stole the gas out of my gas tank. Needless to say I have fixed that now, but I am wondering what can happen next? Do not think about moving here!!!!!!!
