  • Bad News

    Dated facilities - there is a good chance you'll run into broken appliances / AC / or worse. They will show you the nicest unit they have on the tour and bait and switch you be warned. Also, the property manager is entitled and unhelpful!

  • Huge shift with management change

    I lived in these apartments (formerly Montreaux on the Plaza, now The Maxwell) for two years. When I moved in, Jen was the manager and she was wonderful. There was a stark contrast almost immediately after the change in management. Communication is practically nonexistent and they are very inflexible and frustrating to deal with. If you do decide to move in, I recommend drain covers. It's an older building/infrastructure and there was the occasional spider or insect that would make its way up.

    harged me $150 for a cleaning fee when I moved out. I looked at the charge on the vacate packet for what I didn’t have cleaned and it definitely did not add up to $150. Watch out!! They also were charging me for 2 parking spots instead of 1

  • New Management Ruining Montreux

    May 11, 2022
    Montreux used to be a safe, affordable place to live. I felt comfortable living here. However, the new management is raising rent by hundreds of dollars per month, the place has gotten dirtier, and they are having us park on the street during renovations with no parking fee refund. Jen used to do such a great job and really worked for her tenants, not for her own benefit. I will be moving out now.

    When I had to move back home from the Bay Area, the property manager, Jennifer made it the easiest transition. The Montreux is a gem perfectly nesting by two iconic museums, spacious parks, and of course the Plaza. It’s a quiet, spacious property that’s well-maintained and has a great aesthetic. The mail room is a little hard to get used to, but I haven’t ever lost any packages. Just resigned for another year. Recommend checking it out.

  • A great place to live in KC!

    We greatly enjoyed our two years at Montreux. The location is excellent: walking distance from the Nelson-Atkins Museum, the Kemper Museum, the Plaza, and Westport with easy access to the trolley trail. The apartment management was very helpful and easy to work with. We relocated out of KC for a new job, and Jennifer was so helpful when we had to break our lease for this new opportunity. She worked quickly to find someone to take over our lease so we weren't left on the hook for additional months ...
    of rent, even though technically we broke our lease and so should have been on the hook for those additional months. The apartment itself had a great layout that we really enjoyed. Other residents are respectful and good neighbors. All around, the best KC apartment we could have asked for!!
