December 28, 2024There is a serious issue with car theft in the area. Both me and my boyfriend have had our cars broken into & nothing was done or resolved. Police was contacted & nobody came, and the property managers/employees could care less!Review from Apartments.com
Willow Oaks is Home!
September 8, 2024Overtime, I have lived at Willow Oaks Apartments 25+ years in total. I moved out a few times to buy a house or work out of state. However, I always came back. I love living here. The apartments are spacious, the grounds are beautiful and clean, the neighbors are friendly, and the complex is safe. The management is friendly, and I have always found Maintenance to be very responsive and good. In addition, the rent is reasonable. The complex is especially good for seniors. Willow Oaks sits ...on a bus line, and it is conveniently located near major highways, schools, shopping, and churches. It has been and continues to be Home for me. Incompetent Management/Maintenance
August 15, 2020I live in a first floor apartment. Today my apartment began flooding (1st floor unit). Maintenance came to look and told me there is nothing they can do because it is an old building and there are 12 other buildings that have the same problem. When I went and spoke to the apartment manager she told me there is nothing they can do because the roof is flat, the gutters need cleaned out and they are short-staffed. I am currently in a hotel because I am worried the ceiling will buckle. This is ...not the first issue I’ve had with them and I will not renew my lease in the spring.Property Manager Responded

AWFUL MANAGEMENT
March 12, 2019Been living here for a year. Management didn't renew the lease and didn't give a reason. I've had no complaints. I went to ask for an explanation and the leasing manager talked to me like I wasn't even human. She said they reserve the right to not renew the lease and they don't have to give me a reason. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS! Also they claim they offer recycling pickup but there is none because they have the cheapest trash pickup service and the contract ...conflicts with the recycling pickup.Property Manager Responded

January 28, 2018I recently moved to Willow Oaks, and I love this place! It was absolutely the cleanest apartment I've ever moved in to - everything was SPOTLESS. Samantha and the rest of the staff in the front office are so kind and helpful, and very patient with all of my moving in questions. The maintenance man, Tim, is knowledgeable and fixed my small issues within 24 hours. The bark park is a wonderful amenity, and the floor plans are perfect and spacious.Review from Apartments.com
Quiet Place to Live
September 9, 2015I have lived in my current apartment for almost two years and really like it. I have a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit which is very spacious and has some updates. I also like the outdoor living space as well as the additional outdoor storage. Any maintenance issues I've had were resolved very quickly so I have no complaints. Review of the Willow Oaks Apartments Community
July 28, 2015This apartment complex sits on Forrest Hills Ave near the Downtown Expressway and Chippenham Parkway. Forrest Hills Ave. is a major thoroughfare that has convenient access to brand name shops, grocery stores and various eateries. It is convenient to Chippenham Hospital, Lucile Brown Middle school and Midlothian Turnpike and Hull Street Road. Both of whom have Malls and big box stores galore. Also. Willow Oaks is on the bus route. As far as locations go we are on the middle of everything. Floor ...space is generous with all apartments being of the Garden type. The grounds are akin to rolling hills with a small creek running through. The Club house is on the small side but the pool is quite large The lawns are cut weekly. Willow Oaks Apartments
August 14, 2015So before we moved in here we looked at ALOT of different options in Richmond, from lofts to more secluded options. Willow Oaks is the best. When you go to the lofts right in the city, you pay a premium price for minimal square footage, and NO parking. At several places they told us you have to get lucky to get a spot within even a few blocks of your apartment, and having two cars (as we do), is just not a good idea. All of these places offered pools, gyms, etc to sweeten the pot but they were ...just ways to make up for what they lack.. space, safety, quiet atmosphere, and parking. We also saw a few apartments further from the city but the commute and traffic were too much. Finally we drove past Willow Oaks and it was just what we were looking for. They don't have many special amenities, other than a great pool and a few laundry rooms. What they do have though is spacious apartments, plenty of parking, QUIET neighborhood, clean grounds, and reasonable rates. This area is beautiful, very close to everything Richmond has to offer and actually feels like a home and not just a small space we are renting to bide our time. One way we could tell that people really liked it here and felt comfortable with the neighborhood is by their porches/balconies. Many of the building show residents have personalized their space and have clearly decided to stay long-term. It shows people really love this neighborhood and these apartments. After we moved in, I drive by other apartment complexes and never see as personalized spaces, because they either don't feel comfortable leaving their stuff out or don't decorate because it is not a long term living situation. ( I understand that is not the case for everyone). We love our apartment, the quiet area and all of our neighbors. Awesome for All
July 22, 2015I lived here with family and after wife died,I moved out because I didn't need 2 bedrooms. I thought I could find cheaper. I moved in with a friend temporarily while I looked for new apartment and behold...I found a one bedroom apartment.... at the same complex..Willow Oaks is the best as far as low crime,beautiful setting,large rooms and quiet serting.
