Bars are common sight for most Austin apartment-ites, who can't go a few steps without running into some dive, club or venue, so when the evening rolls around and it's decision time, which bar is the right one for you? If you're a fan of real country, free-flowing beer and authentic dive bar feel, then the Broken Spoke is tailored made for you. Broken Spoke is famous around the country for the big name acts it gets to grace its stages. Big artists such as George Strait got their start on that simple stage, and to this day some of the biggest names in country still like to make it a point to stop by the place during a tour. No matter what night you go, except Mondays and Sundays, you're sure to find some authentic southern music to delight your ears. It's also one of the last true Texas dance halls, with a huge dance floor just perfect for boot scooting the night away. Now that you've gotten a treat for your ears, it's time for some treats for the tongue. If you're a fan of chicken fried steak, then you have to check out the Spoke's own special recipe, which they boast is the greatest in the world. There's also some very tasty barbecue, delicious burgers even a plate of enchiladas. If you're around between eleven and two, then you can try one of their affordable blue plate specials, which gives you your choice of meat, two sides and a salad all for one great low price. For fans of country music there are few better places in Austin for some real authentic southern music than the Broken Spoke, plus you can have a delicious meal and some cold longnecks in the process. It's a good chance for Austin apartment residents to go out and get a real taste of Texas.
