There’s also a fun wilderness adventure for the kids at the Tisch Children Zoo, where friendly animals await the hands of happy children ready to pet, hold and play with all the gorgeous animals that call this section of the park home, including water birds, farm animals, and gorgeous peacocks. It’s like exploring a foreign land, a short train ride away from your New York apartment. Animal lovers in New York can have a hard time dealing with all the steel and stone, but the Central Park Zoo gives them an opportunity to explore the natural world around them without taking the long trip or spending a fortune.
