It also stands as one of the oldest, being founded in 1881, the first art museum built for that purpose west of the Alleghenies. For fans of art history, you can find plenty of information about the history of art in this part of the country, as well as the world. Art afficionados would be crazy to pass up this place. As stated previously, the museums holds over 60,000 works of art, by some of the top names in the world, from around the globe.
