Many pubs, bars, and even clubs offer food these days, so in Denver, apartment-ites can find a great variety of ways to eat a meal and have a good time. The problem is, in most of the places where this is possible the food is less than stellar. One place that gets the restaurant right, while still offering an opportunity to have a great time, is Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery. Not only does this place have some of the best food in town, but they have fresh, award-winning beers brewed right on site, so it was never stuck in a truck, on a shelf, or in the fridge, so you know you'll get a fresh, delicious brew every time. If you want delicious food and the freshest brews, there's no place in town quite like Rock Bottom. The restaurant portion of its name is an important one, so it makes sense that they have some of the most delicious food in town. Begin your evening with some of their delicious titan toothpicks, chicken, jack cheese, peppers and onions in crispy tortilla, calamari diavolo, giant ballpark pretzels, brushed with fresh brown ale, or their seared Ahi, served with edamame slaw, pickled ginger and wasabi. When it comes to main courses, Rock Bottom's variety is endless. Their specialties include basil asiago chicken, with white cheddar mashed potatoes, stout BBQ ribs, served with apple slaw and fries, smoked salmon fish and chips, and jambalaya and red ale rice, or try one of their certified Angus burgers, including the hickory burger, topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, and Stout barbecue sauce, or the Bourbonzola Burger, with Jim Bean glaze, Gorgonzola cheese, smoked peppercorn, onion straws, lettuce and tomato on an onion roll. You could also try something from their steak menu, including the Texas Fire steak, with crazy pepper and served with jalapeno butter, or their pub tips, served in a rich Brown Ale sauce, with woodland mushrooms, roasted peppers, and onions. They've received numerous awards for these brews, including a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2004, for their Samurai Malt Liquor, silver medal for their Roggenbier, Dark Munich Lager, and Oatmeal Stout X, as well as three gold medals in the Association of Brewers World Beer Cup, for their Mother Martha's Kolsch, Black Sheep ESB, and Never Summer Ale.
