Far Rockaway Overview
Far Rockaway is a neighborhood of Queens, which is a borough of New York City. Far Rockaway is located on the eastern end of a peninsula known as the Rockaways. Other neighborhoods on this peninsula include Edgemere, Arverne, Hammels, Rockaway Beach, Rockaway Park, Belle Harbor, Neponsit, and more. The entire peninsula is home to about 120,000 people across 11 square miles, but Far Rockaway itself has about 70,000 residents in just under three square miles.
