Having an apartment in Houston gives you unparalleled opportunities for a fun night with friends, but always leaves you with the difficult choice of which place is the right place to go to have a good time. If you're in the mood for an old-fashioned Irish Pub and everything that comes with it, from great food, a great selection of alcohol and some great ambiance, The Mucky Duck is just the place for a great time experiencing Houston's nightlife. Irish pubs are a dime a dozen in the Houston area, so you have to ask yourself what makes one pub better than the other. One great criterion is its selection of beers, wines and other alcohol. The Mucky Duck delivers with flair on this one, with a fine selection of beers, mostly showing off in terms of ales from the UK. Old Speckled Hen, Newcastle, Belhaven and Boddington are just some of the great ales to choose from, as well as other forms including Guiness and Harp. Also, there are numerous domestics to choose from, including Houston's own Shiner Bock and St. Arnold. If beer's not your poison, feel free to try something from one of Houston's wine list, including some of the best French champagnes, California Whites and Chardonnays, Italian Pino Grigios and Reds, as well as numerous Pinot Noirs, Shirazes, Malbecs, Cabernets, Merlots, and even Desert Wines. If you don't find something to stimulate your senses, you're not looking hard enough. When it comes to pubs, what sets aside the men from the boys is the food. So many times the food comes secondary to the beer, and suffers because of it. They also have a great selection of sandwiches and burgers, as well as a great after-dinner menu.
