Your teenage nephew is coming to visit your new apartment for the weekend and...surprise!...you have absolutely no idea how to entertain him. What the heck are kids today into anyway? You're pretty sure they like music, and knowing your sister odds are good the kid is on the artistic side of things. Music? Art? Super Happy Fun Land! A name like that is raising the bar pretty high for expectations, but SHFL more than delivers a unique experience to say the least. On any given night you are just as likely to see the hottest of indie bands making a surprise visit as you are to observe a lone techno nerd twiddling on a laptop while an interpretive dancer does something naughty with a balloon. So expect the unexpected, and don't be surprised when the mantra extends to the venue's you-name-your-price donation-only bar (?!). And did we mention the art? From the avante garde to the really avante garde, Super Happy Fun Land is always a step ahead of what's hot. They even offer step-by-step informative classes for that crafty kid from out of town, where they can learn everything from claymation to the ins-and-outs of sock puppetry. And hey, odds are good your nephew has never done that before.
