Huntington Overview
With the completion of railroad offerings in 1871, Huntington quickly established itself as a hub of industry, with natural resources such as coal and steel in high supply locally. The city was one of the first to adopt electric street cars, and Camden Park saw completion in 1903, making it one of the oldest amusement parks in the country. World War II saw a great need for steel from the city, and by the 1980s the economic focus had shifted to health care and education, with several universities currently housed within the city limits, including Marshal U.
