A beach is always a good excuse to get out of your Miami apartment, and Matheson Hammock Park has many amenities to attract apartment visitors. The natural atoll pool (a coral island that consists of a reef surrounding a lagoon) is a major draw to residents of Matheson Hammock Park apartments. Actually, the pool is man made, possibly to attract beach goers, but it is an excellent feature of the destination that makes it worth visiting. The pool is flushed naturally by the tides from nearby Biscayne Bay. Other advantages of the park to Miami apartment dwellers are the lovely views, the safe waters, a restaurant, snack shop and marina. The park is well-known for its safe waters and picnic areas. Because it is a Miami/Dade County Park, there is an admission fee for residents of Matheson Hammock Park apartments of $5 per vehicle and $10 per RV. This can also give you confidence; however, that it is a great haven for family and friend get-togethers where you may rent picnic pavilions. The restrooms are relatively clean (maybe compared to your Miami apartment bathroom) and the beach is cleared of trash and mess often. Many wind-surfers like to dock here, so it's an enjoyable sight to watch them while lounging on the sand. If you bring a windsurf board from your Matheson Hammock Park apartment that is carried on a trailer, please be aware that the trailer entry fee is $12. Don't let a sunny day keep you in your Miami apartment!
