ABOUT THE HOUSE - 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms in a single-family home - Shared living room, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom - ~1,400 SF of living space - Shared laundry room in building with washer and dryer - Fenced backyard (ready for a home gardener!) - Street-parking on 12th street is usually available - Currently two bedrooms are available on the top floor, unfurnished. ABOUT THE HOUSEMATES The current resident, Dr. Rebecca Hall, is a local author living in West Oakland with her two cats. She is the creative director of Wake Productions. Rebecca spends much of her time at home writing, researching, and working on different educational projects with fellow authors and artists. Because of health sensitivities, Rebecca has an in-home caretaker in the house most weekdays and requires a scent-free space. Dr. Hall is best known for her work on the graphic novel “Wake: a History of Women-Led Slave Revolts”. To learn more about her and her work, visit rebhallphd [dot] org. ABOUT THE AREA - On 12th street: Friendly neighbors, some have lived there for decades - About 0.5 mile (10-minute walk) from the West Oakland BART station, Mandela Grocery Cooperative - About 2.5 miles (10-minute drive) from Bay Street Emeryville shopping complex, movie theater, Soundwave Studios, Souley Vegan, Jack London Square - One train stop to San Francisco and Downtown Oakland. Easy access to freeways - University of California, Berkeley (15-minute drive) - UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital - Oakland (10-minute drive) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - $45 application fee per adult - Tenants pay for all utilities split evenly among tenants - Month-to-month lease available - Security deposit of one month’s rent due to secure spot.
