Casual dining outside of your San Diego apartment kitchen, very often means some type of pizza. Sometimes, however, the pizza connoisseur likes to take their pizza eating habit to the next level. Sammy's Woodfired Pizza is gourmet style with some attitude. Sammy's also offers incredible tapas, salads and entrees in a casual, relaxed atmosphere with outdoor patio seating. It's the perfect place for any lunchtime visit or a fabulous dinner, whether you're in the mood for pizza or not. Join with family and friends for tapas and salads at great prices for the huge servings or pull into a corner with a special friend or business associate and enjoy pasta or a sandwich and an incredibly delicious dessert. Mini duck tacos or oak roasted asparagus will start your meal off deliciously, and salad is a tough choice, between a Fattouche and Pomegranate salad or an awesome Greek or Caesar salad. For those undecided, the dressings made from scratch daily are bottled and sold to take home. With 24 pizzas on the menu with a wide array of options, it can be an overwhelmingly pleasant experience with a strong desire to return for more. The pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven for a delectable crunchy crust and topped with a huge variety of traditional and not so traditional goodies. Some of the interesting, yet extremely tasty topping choices include barbecue chicken, Hawaiian pineapple, Kobe beef, sun-dried tomatoes and Thai chicken. Of course, no pizza place would be accepted without the basic mozzarella cheese, mushroom, Italian sausage, pepperoni, prosciutto, and New York style pizza. Among the various gourmet cheese pizzas offered are smoked Rufumo, Shaft blue cheese, goat cheese and Manuouri. Entrée options vary from Chicken Tequila Fettuccini to Tomato Angel Hair for pastas, and many tacos and wraps including mahi mahi, shrimp and chipotle cheese chicken, plus Kobe beef and salmon burgers. For the health-conscious eater, there's a fat-free cheese alternative and vegetarian items, as well as a children's menu. Everyone can go home happy eating at Sammy's. Apartment-ites can also call in to have a pizza ready to take out and enjoy on their patios, balconies or by the pool at their apartment community. Sammy's pizza's also make a very nice compliment to entertaining for the "big game." With ten locations in the San Diego area, there's likely a Sammy's in a very convenient location to your apartment. Not to go unmentioned is the fact that Sammy's was voted San Diego's best gourmet pizza in 2008 by San Diego Union Tribune readers and San Diego Magazine and has also been voted number 1 among San Diegoans who have a pension for the likes of pizza. Yum, yum, yum in my tum, tum, tum!
