Residents of Moscone Recreation Center apartments have a lot to do, athletically, at the nearby rec center. The park was formerly called Funston Park, but San Francisco apartment dwellers and homeowners voted to rename the park after George Moscone, San Francisco's former mayor who was assassinated in 1978. The park may not be fancy, but it has undergone renovations in recent years and offers indoor and outdoor opportunities. Living in Moscone Recreation Center apartments allows users the facilities of basketball and tennis courts, baseball and softball diamonds, putting greens and a nice children's playground area. A small rec center is on the property as well. It's fun to meet your friends from San Francisco apartments to pick up a game. Moscone Park has been around since the 1920's and is definitely a beloved location for many. It's been said that well-known actresses and actors have taken their children there because of the lack of gossip-hungry media reporters, i.e. paparazzi. When you go to the park, make sure that if you really want to get in that game of tennis that you get there early (parking is tough after business hours and on the weekend), and that you don't forget your tennis racket or balls at your San Francisco apartment. The courts are well-kept, so it can be busy and you may have to wait.
