You don't have to get up early at your Alum Rock Park apartment as the nearby park doesn't open until 8 am any way. But who wants to get up at 8 am? With the park so close to San Jose apartments and other city life, you hardly know you're still in a large urban area, and it's close enough to not have to spend a lot of time on the road before getting there. Alum Rock Park apartments, along with the superb trails of the actual park, allow fantastic views of the Santa Clara Valley. With 13 miles of trails on around 720 acres, hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders from San Jose apartments are welcome, but designated for some or the other, so make sure you check before you hop on a trail. Some of the trail is fairly level, while other areas cover sharp switchbacks that are tougher for beginners. Again, check with the visitor center before going forth if you are not an experienced hiker or biker. For the more indoor type going to the park, the Alum Rock Science and Nature Center provides both natural history information as well as exhibits with live animals. Injured and non-releasable owls and hawks that are being cared for at the center can be observed. There is also and Alum Rock Park visitor center where bathrooms and maps are available. Picnic areas and barbecue pits are obtainable for the San Jose apartment dweller wanting to get out and enjoy the scenery and fresh air, but no alcoholic beverages are allowed, and neither are pets or firearms. It's close enough to the city to enjoy, so make a trip to Alum Rock Park a beautiful and fun destination to enjoy soon.
